Rigoletto at Valley Lyric Opera

Valley Lyric Opera of Greenville, Pennsylvania is planning a performance of Verdi’s Rigoletto on the 16th of September in 2005. Valley Lyric has put together some wonderful concert performances. I suppose I’m significantly biased, but I have backup — ask anyone who’s been to a performance!

I can’t remember where I saw Rigoletto, but it must have been several years ago. It was in either Cleveland or Pittsburgh, since those are the only opera houses I’ve visited (so far). I enjoyed it _immensely_ — it’s hard not to enjoy Verdi. Verdi has some positively giggle-worthy sequences, but the music he writes just grabs you. If you haven’t seen a live performance of his work — of anything he wrote — you’re missing out. Valley Lyric is non-profit and dedicated to promoting education and the arts, also, so this ought to be the perfect opportunity!

Please take a look at their website for more scheduling information.
